The SARA, Inc. High Power Electromagnetics Division (HPEM) is looking for a remarkably talented and motivated Application Software Developer to support research and development activities and transition innovative technologies to the DoD, DoE, and their contractors in Colorado Springs, CO. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and learn with talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers. Our small group will allow the candidate to experience, contribute, and collaborate in a multidisciplinary nature from conception all the way through to operation.

Core Responsibilities: *

  • Maintain existing applications (bug fixes and new features)
  • Development and execution of test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Development of test tools
  • Development and creation of automated regression test suites
  • Gather requirements from business stakeholders
  • Create and maintain application solution documentation

Requirements: *

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Math
  • 3-5 years experience
  • Knowledge of C and C++ (C# is a plus)
  • Knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of PHP and HTML/JS
  • Understanding of testing methodologies
  • Experience with Doxygen
  • Understanding of Git/SVN and basic version control principles
  • Unit Testing Tools Google Test and/or QTest and/or CPPUnit; Code quality tools cppCheck and pylint
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Must possess good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Windows environments
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications: *

  • Strong Math, Physics or Engineering background
  • Experience with basic electronics troubleshooting
  • Knowledgeable in the use of test equipment (Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Multimeter, and etc.)
  • Experience with third-party libraries and software using API
  • Experience with MySQL and MS SQL
  • Have strong knowledge of C++ OOPs concepts
  • Good knowledge and project experience on development and maintenance of multithreaded C++ applications
  • Have worked on Windows socket programming and multithreading
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs
  • Understanding of UI design and user-oriented focus
  • Experience with test automation suites (Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of Java/Perl languages
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux environments
  • Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of GUI testing

Salary Range: $75,000 – $100,000

Salaries at SARA are competitive and are commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the individual. SARA is headquartered in the Los Angeles/Orange County area of Southern California and has offices in San Juan Capistrano, California, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Tyler, Texas.
