The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for assisting Water Park management in directly overseeing the lifeguard & slide attendant staff and the day to day operations of the Water Park. Responsibilities include but not limited to; supervision and training of lifeguards, inspection, cleanliness and inventory of safety supplies and controls, and enforcing rules, complying with regulations and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. These are high guest contact areas and staff must interact directly with guests by providing courteous, friendly, and professional assistance.

Essential Functions:

• Directly supervise and support the Lifeguard & Slide Attendant staff, as assigned.

• Focused on all lifeguard standards set by Ellis and Associates

• Take charge of any emergency situation that occurs on the pool deck area

• Responsible for the management of the lifeguards in their assigned area, enforcing established rules, complying with regulations and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor

• Oversee and assist in maintaining the aquatics facility as related to orderliness, cleanliness, and safety.

• Perform supervisory tasks of a team, including resolving conflict, coaching, and developing others, promoting teamwork, and performance management

• Attend workshops/meetings held for the purpose of enhancing the operation of the water resort and/or hotel; including daily operational meetings with other Hotel department leadership.

• Administer and ensure enforcement of all water resort rules and regulations; Coordinate with water resort supervisors to ensure that appropriate records are kept and that the preparation of local, state, and federal reports, including all safety checks and reports, are timely and accurate.
• Provide first aid and emergency care for guest/swimmers who suffer injuries or sudden illness
• Provide a warm and inviting atmosphere when assisting guests
• Lead by Example – Go above and beyond for the guests and team member you serve

• Ability to perform cash-handling functions, including point-of-sale (POS) system, registers, and daily reporting.

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum of 1 years’ Lifeguard experience required.

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

• ILTP® Lifeguard Instructor preferred.

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Must be flexible regarding scheduling as it is based on business demands to include weekend and holiday availability.

Physical Requirements:

• Swim 50 yards in 4 ft. of water and retrieve a 10 lb brick from the bottom of pool

• Sit or stand for extended periods of time

• Capable of prolonged exposure to hot and humid environments

• Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs
