Coad Chevrolet of Anna is looking for a GM ASE MASTER CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN to join our team. As a Master Tech, you will repair, inspect, and maintains cars, trucks, SUVs, and other vehicles for drivers. The main duties include using tools to find any potential issues with the customer’s vehicle, explaining problems with the vehicle to the driver, and performing maintenance on the car to fix it or prevent it from future breakdowns or issues.

If you have ASE certifications, we would be willing to enter into an apprenticeship agreement to complete certification.

Hiring is based on background check, drug screen, and driving record results.

Responsibilities

  • Receives repair orders and performs work as outlined on repair orders in accordance with factory and dealership standard
  • Diagnoses malfunctions and performs / documents repair
  • Works closely with the shop foreman, managers, other service employees, and Parts department
  • Examines vehicles to see if additional service is needed
  • Documents work performed, time stamps, and any additional recommended work
  • Road-tests vehicles
  • Completes factory sponsored training as necessary
  • Stays aware of factory bulletins and updates
  • Maintains a safe and clean work space
  • Follows all safety related policies, procedures, and laws
  • Proven experience as auto mechanic
  • Responsibilities will depend on skill level
  • Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
  • Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning
  • Communicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
  • Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Assist the technicians with diagnostics and repairs.
  • Address the customer’s primary concern with diagnosis, repair, and quality control.
  • Master our Dealer Management System for timekeeping, work distribution, electronic inspections, repair quotes, and communication.
  • Understand federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Work effectively with management to address any customer concerns.
  • Meet monthly dealer goals

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experienced techs need to have at least 1+ years of automotive technician experience
  • Candidates who are certified with either Toyota, GM, Ford, CDJR, or Volvo highly preferred
  • Candidates who have State inspection license preferred
  • High school diploma
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • GM Master/World Class technician certified or ASE Certified preferred
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record, per company standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Process and detail-oriented with developed organizational skills
  • Ambitious and possess a desire to learn and grow within our company
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
  • Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment (i.e. lift)
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
  • Attention to detail and workmanship
  • Basic computer skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
