SUMMARY

Assembles company products. All managers, supervisors, and employees are responsible for supporting company quality policies and initiatives as well as promoting and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (MR’s) AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS (PS’s) include the following AND ALL Other duties as assigned.

Positions machine bases and stages sub-assemblies for final assembly.

• Coordinates machine base placement with other department space requirements and scheduling.
• Positions bases according to knowledge of unit being assembled and per blueprint drawings.
• Uses cranes and other devices to move and set materials.

Final assembles equipment per engineering drawings.

• Using hand tools, assembles together sub-assemblies to build entire machine.
• Confers with engineers to resolve problems encountered during build.

Troubleshoots newly assembled equipment.

• At various stages during assembly troubleshoots equipment to determine any unforeseen problems.
• Confers with engineering and manufacturing personnel to resolve problems.
• Routinely practices safety for himself and all other employees.

Assists Engineering and Sales in run-off of new equipment for customers; disassembles equipment for shipping.

• Assists in customer run-offs with assembly expertise.
• Disassembles equipment and loads to trucks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than a high school education. Assembler A: Read prints, have 5-10 years experience; able to lead other Assemblers, head up jobs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Basic ability to read and correctly interpret blueprints, follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, speak effectively with customers and other employees of the company.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables.
