Summary/Objective

The process engineer Assembly is responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process from commissioning through the product lifecycle; mainly focused on robot programming and parameterization of (joining) processes.

Essential Functions

1. Assures specific quality guidelines are met and, if necessary, takes appropriate actions and measures to rectify quality issues.

2. Manages and coordinates departmental improvements projects; reduces scraps and technical downtime, increases technical availability, improves cycle time, reduces changeover times, maintain a safe and clean work area etc.

3. Supports and trains on 4D regarding improving and optimizing the existing process.

4. Carrying out analyzes for process validation (laboratory protocols, measurement reports, etc.)

  • Performs and controls statistical feasibility studies based on analyze measurement reports/measurement protocols of components and assemblies with regard to manufacturing inaccuracies (e.g. geometric deviations).

6. Technical communication with customers and suppliers (supporting)

7. Participate in customer meetings when required participation on FMEA and other quality activities.

8. Supports with second level breakdown diagnostics, minor repairs to equipment (supportive)

  • Monitors and improves related quality and processing areas and provides problem solving assistance for improvements in process ability, quality, performance, productivity and cost.
  • Supporting other departments within the framework of the assigned tasks and powers (system ramp-up)
  • Other duties may be assigned based on skills and overall company needs.

Competencies

1. Experience with the following joining processes:

a. Knowledge of the processes of joining technology (welding, gluing, clinching, riveting, punching, screwing)

b. Problem Solving/Analysis, preferably having Six-Sigma Green Belt

c. Experience on DOE

d. Reading 2D Drawing and use SolidWorks to design components

e. Technical Capacity.

f. Communication Proficiency.

g. Self-Initiative.

This position has no supervisory responsibility

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In order to meet our customer’s demands this role may be required to perform work outside of business hours including weekends.

Travel

Generally, travel is expected for this role only driven by training. Travel can be local or international. Travel is expected to be less than 15%.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Minimum of three 3 years of experience related to manufacturing process optimization

4. Working experience MS Office, mainly Word/Power Point and Excel

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Working experience with Trumpf TruDisk

2. Working experience with Fanuc Operation and Programming

3. Working experience with Kuka Robot Programming (KRC2/KRC4)

4. CAQ

5. Working experience with ERP systems (SAP)

6. Working experience Autocad
