We are also hiring an ASSISTANT DETAILING MANAGER and TEKLA DETAILERS as well!!!

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operation of all in house and subcontract detailing services
• Responsible for establishing all detailing schedules and maintaining all budgets
• Responsible for the determining and then resolving all training issues as they pertain to the detailing department
• Work closely with Project Managers and act as the liaison between detailers and project managers on shop drawings
• Set up job in accordance with Project Manager
• Review contract documents for thoroughness, generate, document and submit requests for information (RFI’s) through the project manager
• Manage connection design in accordance with AISC
• Review architectural (and all other contract) drawings for conformity with structural and communicate discrepancies to project managers for clarification (RFI’s)
• If assigned as a checker for a project: review detail drawing for conformity to contract drawing and to shop standards and check for dimensional errors, erection clearances, accurate connections, etc.
• Maintain strong communication with customers, internal management team, and vendors to ensure quality level is meeting expectations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or 5 to 10 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in detailing
• Excellent analytical and system thinking and effective in presenting such analysis and thinking to constituents in multiple levels of the organization
• Excellent influencing, conflict management, and communication skills (verbal and written) required and ability to implement and sustain change effectively
• Demonstrate leadership effectiveness. Must be an effective change leader who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency to drive results. Effectively balances consistency with flexibility and willing to change ideas in the face of new information.
• Must have the ability to read and understand structural and or miscellaneous drawings
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels in the organization, Customers and Vendors; proven ability to effectively influence and motivate others; must be able to deal with ambiguity and various changing requirements.
• Must be able to work in and encourage a collaborative environment and to perform positively in high conflict situations
• Proficient computer skills on Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project Management Software, and pdf editors
• Modeling Experiences in Tekla Structures... Familiar with AutoCAD or Revit and Advance Steel is a plus
