Job description
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Higher Education, or a related field.
- Must have 7-10 years of experience in student counseling/advisement, implementing career development programs for students or adult learners.
- Professional interpersonal skills including developing and presenting workshops to students/adult learners are must.
- Other skills needed are planning and organizing; information & data collection management; professional etiquette, problem solving; attention to detail; decision making skills; communication skills; confidentiality, and the ability to work under pressure.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree Preferred
- Experience developing and/or implementing programs for college students.
- Experience assisting adult learners and/or students with building career readiness, job search, resume, interviewing and/or other professional development skills.
- Website development and/or maintenance skills.
- Experience managing web based recruitment/job search platforms, resume builder platforms and/or similar platforms including: Handshake, Linked In, Focus 2 Career Assessments, Big Interview.
- Computer software skills in Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point, CANVA. Social media account management experience including creating marketing materials and providing social media coverage at events to post on: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Website etc.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data for annual reports, develop forms, reports, brochures, pamphlets as needed by the Office.
- Provide individual career advisement and career services workshops to students, alumni, faculty and other stakeholders.
- Assist in managing and implementing Office of Career Services web based platforms: Handshake, Hiration, Focus 2 Career and others.
- With the Director, provide social media account management including creating marketing materials and providing social media coverage at events to post on: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Website etc.
- With the Director, develop and manage the Office of Career Services Student Ambassadors Program and any Graduate Assistants.
- Select and manage any work study students for the Office of Career Services.
- Represent the Office of Career Services at meetings as needed with perspective/current employers, educational institutions, economic development partners, jurisdictional organizations or other stakeholders.
- Provide information about the university, academic programs, our students and the services provided by the Office of Career Services.
- Participate in professional development through appropriate conferences, workshops, seminars etc.
- Reserve and Set-up rooms for events.
- Coordinate workforce services in setting up equipment, registration for events, manage office supplies, mail and files.
- Other duties deemed necessary by the Director
