Primary Job Function
To complete the nutritional assessment on residents and determine appropriate plans for each; also to assist the Director of Nutritional Services in carrying out the operation of the department, providing supervisory tasks as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for knowing and maintaining high quality standards of food production and portion control using standardized recipes of provided
- Understand, change and follow the menu, regular and therapeutic, and will supervise staff to do so
- Ability to calculate measurements, write recipes, initiate tray cards, adjust menus, make out schedules and utilize department computer software
- Complete employee performance evaluations as assigned
- Ability to develop menu patterns and evaluate residents acceptance
- Responsible to asses and determine the nutritional status of the residents on his/her caseload and other residents as assigned
- Participates as a member of the health care team planning and delivering appropriate resident care
- Assists Director of Nutritional Services with evaluation of food served to residents and staff- assuring proper quantities, temperatures, and quality standards of food served are met
- Participates in continuous quality improvement (CQI) studies
- Responsible to complete the education/requirements in order to maintain registration and licensure in good standing
- Will support, implement and hold Nutritional services staff accountable to established facility policies and procedures of the facility including but not limits to personnel, Risk management/Safety program, the Voluntary protection Program (VPP), infection control and safe operating procedure within the department and facility wide
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Dietitian and has remained current with continuing education
- Previous experience with a working knowledge of functions in a nutritional services department
