Job description
The Department of Aerospace, Physics and Space Sciences at the Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty positions in Physics with an expected start date of August 2023. We are interested in candidates who are committed to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels while conducting cutting edge, externally funded research in experimental particle physics with an interest in collider physics, including dark matter and astroparticle physics experiments. Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field.

The department has 31 faculty, over 550 undergraduate students, and more than 110 graduate students. Our high-energy physics group is a member of the CMS collaboration at CERN, and our atmospheric electricity group are world leaders, with a record that includes the discovery of X-ray and gamma-rays from lightning. In addition, Florida Tech is the founding member of the Southeastern Association for Research in Astronomy, established the first undergraduate astrobiology program in the US, and our faculty have a strong history of successful research using a variety of ground-based and space-based facilities. We are at the heart of the vibrant aerospace community on the U.S. Space Coast, which is centered around NASA Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Space Force Base and is experiencing dynamic growth based around space and aerospace. The Space Coast is nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty, is served by the Melbourne Orlando International Airport, and is consistently ranked as one of the best and safest places to live in the U.S.

Official Transcripts
Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment.
