DESCRIPTION

Monarch Dunes is located in the southern end of San Luis Obispo County in Nipomo, California which is halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The area is minutes away from California’s scenic wine country and the California coastline. The “Old Course opened for public play in 2006 is an 18-Hole par-71 championship layout in the center of the master planned community of the Woodlands Village. The “Old Course” introduces links-style golf unique to the Central Coast. The “Challenge Course” opened for public play in 2008 is a 12 hole Par 3 Course featuring links style golf and very large greens. The “Challenge Course” is also home to our “Learn Golf” program which helps encourage and develop new golfers to the game of golf.

RESPONSIBILITIES -

• Daily monitoring of course conditions and offers recommendations to Superintendent.
• Maintain all golf course grounds (including driving range and clubhouse landscape) per maintenance standards on a consistent basis.
• Monitoring of moisture levels on all playing surfaces through the use of moisture meter and core samples.
• Maintain and troubleshoot all water delivery systems.
• Staff scheduling, supervision and follow up on daily tasks and projects.
• Identify and repair irrigation issues as needed.
• Assists Superintendent with purchasing of products within maintenance budget.
• Assists with all record keeping to include all maintenance activities, pesticide and fertilizer applications and equipment records.
• Participate and assist in the hiring, training and development of all maintenance personnel as directed by Superintendent.
• Ensures all staff is working within all local, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
• Assist in the management and maintenance of equipment fleet.
• Communicate with Pro Shop as directed by Superintendent.
• Application of fertilizers and plant protectants.
• Assists in the planning and implementation of yearly agronomic tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a valid drivers license.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Qualified Applicators Certificate within 6 months of hire. - 2 or 4 year Turf degree or Certificate.
• 1-2 years experience in golf course maintenance. Will consider recent graduates with strong work history and internships.
• Spanish speaking a plus.
• Excellent work ethic.
• Good communication skills.
• Self motivated.
• Innovative thinker and ability to problem solve.
• Familiar with the operations of Toro Site Pro a plus
• Must have a strong attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
