Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Construction

Austin, TX

Currently seeking an Assistant Superintendent for a great opportunity in Austin, TX area. The ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of related experience. The Assistant Superintendent position is primarily a leadership training position. As part of this training, the Assistant Superintendent will assist a Superintendent in oversight for assigned phases of the construction project.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Construction

• Works collaboratively and effectively with the project team, subcontractors, architects, engineers, etc. throughout the project
• May participate in onsite meetings with architects, engineers, developer representatives, tenant construction representatives, and city officials
• Leads small crew and maintains the direction of the task at hand
• Attends and participates in pre-construction meetings and weekly project coordination meetings with subcontractors
• Verifies rough openings and layout
• Assists in the preparation of material delivery log, managing punch list, and maintaining as-built drawing set
• Learns to read and review contract documents (plans, specs, shop drawings, manufacturer's installation instructions, etc.) to assist in quality control
• Assists in inspecting the work being performed on the project to ensure quality is being achieved
• Assists in identifying and correcting safety violations
• Participates in weekly safety meetings with all subcontractors
• Assists in ensuring the job sites are kept clean, safe, and secure at all times

Requirements of the Assistant Superintendent - Commercial Construction

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• 3+ years of experience
• Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and shop drawings
• Willingness and ability to relocate with assigned jobs
• Computer skills using MS Office
• Valid driver's license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
