VACANCY
TITLE: Assistant Tennis Coach for Grafton High School
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate West Virginia Department of Education certification
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principal and Athletic Director
SELECTION: The position is filled by the Board of Education upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools.
FUNDING SOURCE: Levy
Salary and Employment: Per Taylor County Board of Education extra-curricular assignment schedule.
Functions and Duties:
Professional and Interpersonal Relations-
Cooperate with building Principal and Athletic Director and Head Coach.- Develop rapport with coaching staff within the school.
- Develop positive relationship with participants, student body, faculty, parents and community, game officials, news media, opponents.
- Employs appropriate conduct during practice and games.
- Attend league, conference and WVSSAC meetings.
- Participate in activities that foster professional growth and development.
- Assist to motivate staff and players toward desired goals.
- Command respect by example in appearance, manners, behavior and language.
Coaching and Related Areas-
Assist to develop high caliber and quality instruction.- Assist in teaching fundamental skills.
- Assists with athletic injuries.
- Cares for equipment.
- Works with head coach to supervise participants and disciplines team appropriately.
- Works with head coach to design quality organization of practice sessions.
- Works with head coach to design pre-season planning.
- Assists with the supervision of managers and other support personnel.
- Helps manage budget.
- Follow purchasing procedures when needed.
- Works with head coach to initiate game organizational skills.
- Follow league: conference and WVSSAC policies.
- Devote time and energy to coaching duties.
- Follow end of season procedures.
