POSITION SUMMARY
Prescient is seeking Associates and Senior Associates to join our rapidly growing firm in our Cyber Practice.
Associates and Senior Associates in Prescient’s Cyber Practice collect open-source intelligence as part of security assessments and investigations and monitor for threats using deep web, dark web, and social media sources. Dark web specialists will also work with senior practitioners on post-breach investigations and discreet dark web intelligence matters.
Both Associates and Senior Associates will have the opportunity to assist Associate Directors, Directors, Senior Directors, and Managing Directors with business development and client engagement matters. We are open to speaking with both Associate and Senior Associate candidates, and final title decisions will be made based on years of experience, candidate expertise, and company needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Associates and Senior Associates are generally responsible for:
- Conducting in-depth dark web investigations and deep and dark web assessments for companies and individuals.
- Monitoring the deep and dark web using in-house and 3rd party tools.
- Identifying new dark web sources for collection and analysis.
- Leverage OSINT tools and methodologies to aid in data collection, network analysis, and account identification.
- Produce both in-depth and summary/trend reports on findings that can be read by clients regardless of their technical expertise.
- Assisting with online threat monitoring and response investigations.
- Ad hoc investigations.
- Assisting with reactive Incident Response projects, including data breach and business email compromise investigations.
- Working under tight deadlines and outside of normal business hours, when required.
- Managing multiple projects at once with limited supervision.
- Assisting with Python programming, if relevant and/or needed.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a field related to OSINT and Dark Web analysis.
- Working knowledge of Python for data collection and analysis.
- Experience navigating dark web sources, managing online personas, and using dark web collection tools to uncover actionable intelligence.
- Understanding of cyber concepts needed to accurately provide context for findings.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and briefing skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects at once with limited supervision.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Expertise in social media investigations, domain research and deep and dark web sources.
Experience conducting investigative research as part of litigation support projects and/or asset traces.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- Senior Associate candidates will have 3-5+ years of investigations, OSINT, or intelligence experience.
