About The Role
The Associate Technical Designer is responsible for the on-time development of Men’s and Women’s denim, ensuring products meet company standards for aesthetic, fit, cost, and quality. Work with the Design, Product Development and Technical Design team whose responsibilities include managing the successful launch of all new denim products. This position includes responsibilities ranging from technical design and fit management to building products that meet company gross margin objectives and achieving deliverables during the go-to-market cycle.
You’ll Make a Difference By
- Demonstrating a sound understanding of fit, construction, and product development priorities.
- Building new product specifications including full graded measurements and detailed technical sketches throughout the pre-production stage.
- Maintaining and building best in class fit portfolio: create measurement specs from existing fit blocks for new fits, craft new construction techniques.
- Having the responsibility for fit consistency and monitoring factory utilization of blocks.
- Managing commercialization process: track samples, schedule fitting, review and measure samples for workmanship, construction, fit, and production feasibility and communicate with factories/agents.
- Leading fit sessions and communicate fit corrections and/or pattern changes with factories from prototype through production.
- Managing product development timeline to ensure department goals are met.
- Maintaining accuracy of product specs and fit comment throughout the development and production process.
- Participating in creative sketching process, component, and team meetings.
- Performing these and other duties as assigned.
About You
- 4+ years of experience in Men’s or Women’s denim bottoms and technical Design/Product Development.
- Knowledge in denim construction, fit and patterns. manufacturing processes and product development lifecycle.
- Able to proactively troubleshoot and propose straight forward solutions to problems with moderate complexity.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, result-oriented team environment.
- Exceptional written, oral, and face-to-face communication skills.
- Detail oriented with outstanding follow-through.
- Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks and work independently of supervision.
- Fast acting and capable of adapting quickly to change.
- Proficient use of Adobe Illustrator, MS Office, Word, and Excel; Knowledge in PLM and patternmaking systems, Gerber a plus.
- BA or BS preferred.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
