Summary
The Associate Vice President of Digital Strategy leads the development and oversight of digital strategy and client relationships for some of our largest nonprofit clients, including those we serve on behalf of partner agencies at Moore. The role is responsible for leading and developing a team or teams within Moore Digital, including directors, digital strategists and specialists who support specific clients and client groups. The AVP, Digital Strategy is accountable for client relationships including success metrics and strategy guidance across assigned clients. The AVP also supports the agency Chief Strategy Officer and President in new business development and thought leadership efforts.
Primary Responsibilities
Client Management
- Acts as an Executive Sponsor of 2-3 assigned accounts, ensuring strong communications and deepens client relationships, resolving issues as they arise.
- Accountable for the development, implementation, and ongoing success of all assigned digital strategy.
- Oversees weekly client touch-base meetings for updates on all digital deliverables.
- Oversees weekly internal meeting attendance and reporting.
- Develops and/or reviews strategy, copy, reports, and creative briefs, as needed.
- Contributes to the new business proposal process, as required, attending preparation meetings, and contributing content on digital strategy.
- Reviews and is accountable for meeting annual budget and projections.
- Oversees strategy, creative development, and results in close partnership with the media team for programmatic ads, paid search and paid social.
- Oversees strategy development, including content and cadence, for email fundraising programs.
- Ensures that projects are progressing through the agency and to client, and that all internal project deadlines are met.
- Accountable for client success goals & KPIs including media ROAS metrics.
- Performs research and continuous monitoring of the digital landscape to present new growth opportunities to clients.
- Contributes to marketing strategies to grow digital marketing and other aspects of digital marketing throughout the enterprise.
- Works closely with the agency CSO and President to support business development leadership and assist with new business growth across the enterprise.
- Partners with leadership at Moore agencies to develop integrated digital marketing and support solutions and to oversee effective digital strategy partnership for shared clients.
- Stays abreast of key industry and market trends and recommends product, service, and technology innovations to ensure success for clients and ongoing growth and leadership.
- Serves as a senior consultant and strategist in support of key digital clients for clients throughout the enterprise, as needed.
Team Management
- Builds, coaches, and mentors the digital strategy team.
- Holds weekly touch base meetings with each member of assigned team to review client needs and updates, internal team issues, and planning for current and future campaigns.
- Provides weekly updates to leadership on client relationships, new business, and team growth opportunities.
- Presents internal education as needed on Digital 101-201.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with a digital agency, preferably within a nonprofit fundraising firm.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of team leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Proven experience in digital marketing, engagement, and activation; fundraising and marketing for the nonprofit sector highly preferred.
- Experience managing digital strategy functions and teams.
- Solid understanding of the digital marketing and nonprofit sectors.
- Ability to oversee digital strategy and provide digital consulting for nonprofit clients and client groups across email, web, and advertising channels.
- Exceptional communication skills encompassing written, verbal and presentation capabilities.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Comfortable with a fast-paced agency environment and a variety of client service tasks.
- Able to handle multiple concurrent projects while working independently and collaborating with teams.
