Atticus Pizza Cook Job Descriptions

As a pizza cook, your primary responsibilities include baking pizzas and preparing related ingredients. Your duties involve preparing dough, making fresh sauce, chopping toppings such as meats and vegetables, and baking the pizza. You are trusted with upholding our company values and ensuring only the best products are sent to our customers. Our bakery is the backbone of our company and as a pizza cook for Atticus you are in a unique position that overlaps with both the bakery and the kitchen. You will be working with dough produced by Atticus bakery from fresh milled regional grains - this will be the vehicle for equally special toppings.

Requirements for the position

The Atticus pizza cook is expected to work part of their shift working in the service kitchen, part of their shift preparing the kitchen for service, part sanitation, and assisting your co-workers. This position requires dependability, physical activity, a sense of urgency, and the ability to perform multiple duties within the store. Our store is open daily, which requires morning, evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prep ingredients needed to an appropriate par level to have a successful service

• Producing sauce and toppings needed for service according to Atticus recipes

• Work the prep station – read tickets as they come and prepare the pie according to toppings ordered

• Work the oven – bake and slice pizza made to order

• Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash and sanitizing kitchen

• Practices safe food handling and sanitation

• Possess excellent work ethic skills and can move at a fast pace.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience cooking pizza

• Proficient in basic knife skills

• Competency of core cooking techniques including but not limited to deep frying, sautéing, baking, roasting

• Ability to expedite orders quickly and accurately

• Have a positive can-do attitude with a friendly personality

• Ability to work in stressful, fast-paced environment.

• Strong team working and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.

• Ability to stand 90% of the time

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Availability

• Must be available to work evenings from 1pm – 9:30pm

• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
