Overview:
Job Summary:
- The Reconciliation Analyst is primarily responsible for handling the reconciliation of client bank statements to cash posted, and the investigation and resolution of any issues and/or variances identified
Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Reconciles client bank statements monthly and confirms that all monies are accounted for
- Ensures accurate reconciliation between cash and AR
- Navigates websites to obtain Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
- Identifies issues and communicates those issues to Reconciliation Supervisor and Manager
- Resolves any discrepancy between bank statements and posting to provide accurate and timely reporting to each client
- Coordinates with Posting team to locate and correct discrepancies, including client trends between multiple systems
- Oversees one to two Reconciliation Coordinators to prepare all documentation for reconciliation
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare preferred, or comparable experience
- Minimum three years of accounting experience and associated business software applications (Excel, Windows, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s):
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills
- Strong mathematical skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions; computing percentages; and working with decimals
- Ability to run basic queries and interpret data trends
- Ability to operate in multiple patient financial systems
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies
- Ability to remain flexible and work within a collaborative and fast paced environment
- Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner
