WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING EVERY DAY-

The Banquet Chef works closely with Executive Chef, exhibiting their culinary talents while supervising staff and all other food related functions. You will be an integral part in the improvement of guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing departmental financials. Daily job duties may include and are not limited to:

  • Providing support and direction for all day-to-day operations
  • Understanding employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence or determine appropriate replacements
  • Providing positivity and encouragement to build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Reviews staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
  • Monitors the quality and presentation of all food products to ensure that standards are met
  • Trains and develops team members for individual and departmental success
  • Assists/administers the performance appraisal process for direct reports
  • Provides information to executive teams, managers, supervisors, and co-workers, effectively through various forms of communication
  • Exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations
  • Monitors processes and procedures related to safety

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 5+ years cooking experience with 2+ years in leadership preferred
  • College degree or certification in culinary field/hospitality field preferred
  • Knowledge of Restaurant and Banquet operations
  • Experience in budgeting, cost controlling and inventory management
  • Ability to understand financial goals and accomplish them
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
