Position Responsibilities

The Banquet Manager is responsible for working with the Wedding, Corporate and Social Sales Department in the setup and implementation of all events.

Essential Functions

· Will be responsible for the overall appearance of the public & banquet spaces at Tidewater Inn and Carriage House.

· Responsible for weekly set up needs at Tidewater Inn and Carriage House and must work and communicate directly with the Sales Department to ensure timing and details are accurate.

· Responsible for ordering & receiving all house linen and ensuring all properties have the appropriate amount of inventory weekly. Also includes Bar Towels & Aprons at both locations. Will be responsible for all credit weekly relating to poor/stained materials from linen vendor.

· Responsible for receiving all specialty linen & materials ordered via TWI sales associates and coordinating the location of said materials and instruction for end of the night. Will be responsible for all pick up of material.

· Will manage drop off of personal wedding items weekly, and ensure all items are accounted for and any special instructions are communicated to appropriate sales associate. Will work directly with wedding sales team to ensure storage location is appropriate.

· Responsible for all chair cushions and conditions. Should manage inventory and cleaning schedule for these materials.

· Install and train Captain’s & Trainer’s in the use of the Training Detail Document.

· Will need to create a training guideline for all new hires.

· Will be responsible for training on site and assisting with Event Management when needed (outside of Captain Duties).

· Responsible for evaluating banquet team to include hiring and training needs.

· Responsible for all uniform implementation and standards.

· Will report to General Manager every Tuesday on update of weekly events, personnel issues and staff requests related to weekly set up needs.

· Ability to give tours in absence of management team members.

· Provide support, positive direction and development to staff members

· Knowledge of complete menu and work stations prior to function.

· Ensure that proper service and etiquette is maintained at all times.

· Achievement of budgeted materials and labor costs.

· Achieve maximum profitability and over-all success by controlling costs and quality of service.

· Participation and input towards F & B Marketing activities.

· Inventory and control of Banquet china, cutlery, glassware, linen and equipment. Create and maintain PAR levels for all banquet equipment needs and purchase when needed.

· Completion of bi-weekly schedules. Schedule staff as necessary to ensure adequate and consistent levels of service.

· To supervise and coordinate daily operation of meeting/banquet set-ups and service.

· Completion and supervision of banquet bar requisitions.

· Following of proper purchasing and requisitioning procedures.

· Maintain records for inventory, labor cost, Banquet Beverage cost etc.

· Follow-up each function by completing a Function Critique and submit to the Sales & Culinary Team.

· Attendance and participation of weekly BEO, F & B meeting and Department Head meeting.

· Development and maintenance of all department control procedures and training.

· Execution of bi-weekly payroll input.

· Will be responsible for weekly schedules and schedule requests. Schedule staff as necessary to ensure adequate and consistent levels of service while adhering to budgeted labor guidelines.

· All other duties as assigned by the General Manager

· When on property you must be available to Hotel Staff at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
