Biology Visiting Lab Instructors

Biological Sciences - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (22007451)


The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for up to six full-time Visiting Lab Instructor positions for the spring 2023 term with an anticipated start date of 6 January 2023. These positions are each on a one-term basis, outside of the tenure stream, and entail teaching four sections of introductory authentic research lab courses or microbiology lab courses or physiology lab courses. Minimum qualifications are an MS degree in biology or a related field with some teaching experience. Preferred qualifications are the publication of research work or a Ph.D. in the biological sciences; research experience relevant to the courses (molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, microbiology, ecology, or physiology); formal training in teaching; experience as sole instructor of a laboratory course; and experience teaching an authentic-research laboratory course. Teaching evening sections may be needed.
