Delaware County Technical High School seeks a Biomedical Technology Instructor to be based in our Aston, PA location. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years documented work experience in a biomedical or biochemistry related field. As an alternative, candidates with PDE Instructional Biology certification will be considered.

This program focuses on the application of the biological sciences, biochemistry and genetics in preparation of new and enhanced agricultural, environmental, clinical and industrial products, including the commercial exploitation of microbes, plants and animals. Includes instruction in bioinformatics, gene identification, phylogenetics and comparative genomics, bioinorganic chemistry, immunoassaying, DNA sequencing, xenotransplantation, genetic engineering, industrial microbiology, drug and biologic development, enzyme-based production process, patent law and biotechnology management and marketing, applicable regulations and biotechnology ethics.

Development of an Occupational Advisory Committee and clinical partnerships will also be required.

Minimum requirements:

• Must be willing to obtain a PA vocational teaching certificate through an approved PDE university program.
• Ability to work effectively and regularly with a computer and computer programs
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess excellent interpersonal and team building skills
• Possess strong organizational skills
• Ability to function independently
• Flexible and reliable
• Experience working with students preferred
