Our client is a global health-care equity fund investment manager with over $1 billion in assets under management. The fund is fast growing having gone from $20 million aum to over a billion in 5 years. The fund is long/short and long only, with a planned private investing strategy.

The successful individual will be an experienced biotech equities investor with a focus on clinical stage biotherapeutic companies, working directly with the Chief Investment Officer.

This NYC, mid-town located investment fund is a team of 7 investment professionals with a total employee size of approximately 14.

This is an opportunity to work side by side with the CIO who is a process driven, demanding and a highly successful investor and mentor.

The analyst will have names in the portfolio (primary and secondary) and a pipeline of working ideas.

Responsibilities

The analyst will work side by side with the CIO and will be responsible for coverage of biopharmaceutical equities. The role entails performing all aspects of security analysis. Our approach is deeply fundamental. The analyst will require comfort with hard science, medical concepts, and clinical trial analysis plus the expertise in financial analysis such as valuation work.

Responsibilities will require you to:

• Conduct original, primary research on biopharmaceutical companies.
• Rigorously analyze clinical data, research adjacent medical literature and attend medical conferences.
• Distill medical concepts to their basic essence and effectively communicate them.
• Collaborate with and interview industry executives and key opinion leaders.
• Monitor company holdings and conduct surveillance of emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical degree
• 2+ years in management consulting, finance or industry experience
• 4+ years of buy side experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $200,000.00 - $400,000.00 per year
