Job description

We are looking for a Bistro Attendant/Cook to join our team and prepare delicious food for our residents. The role of the Bisro Attendant/Cook is to prepare and serve high quality, nourishing and properly prepared food items while following the Community's menus and standardized recipes. Must be able to follow time schedules for food production, food preparation and serving meals. Must maintain a work area that is clean and orderly and insure that all food is stored according to proper sanitation regulations.

Responsibilities

Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales

Prepare all menu items as described on the daily production sheets and standardized recipes.

Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients

Cook food in a timely manner

Ensure appealing plate presentation

Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)

Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Communicates with residents in a kind, respectful, and gentle manner

Maintains training compliance

Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment

Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks

Excellent time management abilities

Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
