Job Summary
Thomas Auto Group is looking for an experienced Body Shop Manager who will manage repair estimating, shop flow, parts ordering, insurance billing, building, and maintaining a professional workforce to repair and refinish vehicle to pre-accident condition in accordance with industry standards and insurance company guidelines. As Body Shop Manager, you should have excellent communication skills and be able to inspire and motivate your team. You will have to manage relations with clients and the ability to reach targets by coordinating the work of your associates. This means that you will have to use your negotiation skills and ability to understand the needs of all customers. Ultimately, your main goal is to make our shop a friendly environment where employees can grow professionally and personally.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Greet each customer in a professional and courteous manner;
- Educate the customer about the collision repair process, including insurance claims processing, payment procedures, repair techniques, repair needs and approximate repair time;
- Prepare all repair damage reports in an accurate and precise manner;
- Supervise and route each repair including disbursement of all paperwork, scheduling, monitoring repairs, negotiating repair times, coordinating sublet work and all other aspects of the repair necessary to provide the consumer with the most expeditious and high quality repair available;
- Uses tact and diplomacy when dealing with internal and external customers;
- Service all insurance accounts in order to maintain those business relationships vital to our success;
- Plan daily production schedule to maximize efficiency and maintain cycle time goals
- Run production meeting to communicate priorities to staff
- Perform in-process quality control checks to ensure company standards are met
- Immediately identify and address any quality issues or production delays
- Perform final quality inspection prior to delivery of the vehicle to customer
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of insurance procedures and requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product.
- I-CAR certification preferred.
- Proficient in the use of estimating software.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass background check.
