Do you love working with your hands and take pride in creating beautiful products? We are relocating our production facility to Saline, Michigan, and seeking a Binding Operators to join our production team. A perfect candidate will have experience in craftsmanship, particularly hand bookbinding, hot foil stamping, book repair, or be skilled in related areas like leatherwork, fine carpentry, art framing, printing, or press operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Our Binding operators are cross trained in multiple skills. They are primarily responsible for the stages of hand-binding photographic pages and structures into albums. This role suits an organized, detail-oriented individual who works well with their hands. Specific skill training in this role is provided, so curiosity and an interest in learning will help you grow with our company.

Operators will perform the following duties in a responsible manner:

• Set up and operate traditional and technical binding equipment using safe, efficient, and productive procedures.
• Inspect and monitor equipment for safety issues and request maintenance as needed.
• Within scope of experience, trouble shoot equipment issues and make simple repairs.
• Create consistent results on duplicate orders.
• Keep work stations clean and organized.
• Break down paper stock into binding materials.
• Compare production output to orders for accuracy and quality control.
• Ensure that production, quality, and efficiency goals are met.
• Perform all other related duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have strong manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Must be mechanically inclined and able to make basic adjustments using company-provided tools.
• Math skills (i.e., decimals, metric units) to understand dimensional, quantity, and size requirements contained in job orders, and to make more complicated adjustments.
• Skill in adjusting powered machines using hand tools (i.e., brushes, wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives) and more specialized hand tools.
• Be dedicated to doing things right the first time.
• Be committed to personal & company improvement.
• Must be able to work productively in a team environment. We prefer to maintain a low drama, low stress workplace
• Must handle client images in a professional, mature, and confidential manner
• Ability to move supplies/parts/products weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand and walk for 8+ hours
• Must be able to follow safety procedures
• Must be able to work in a production environment with potential exposure to chemical smells and loud noises.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of high school education or equivalent
• A minimum of 3+ years of related experience in binding or press operations preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
