DEPARTMENT: Zoo Guest Services

LOCATION: Primarily stationed at the Hattiesburg Zoo; but work may require travel to all Hattiesburg Convention Commission (HCC) facilities.

SHIFT: Full-time: Varies may include weekdays and weekends.

REPORTS TO: Director of Guest Services and Retail

SUMMARY: Responsible for booking all planned Zoo Visits this includes but is not limited to birthday parties, animal encounters, field trips and pavilion rentals. The Booking Coordinator will provide the best customer service and direction for all guests of the Hattiesburg Zoo.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments
• Receive payment and record receipts for services
• Hear and resolve complaints from customers or the public
• File and maintain records
• Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars in event planning software
• Analyze data to determine answers to questions from customers or members of the public
• Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided
• Assists with other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Work Experience

• Must be a high school graduate
• Customer Service experience required

Essential Job Qualifications

Must retain a valid Driver’s License and meet the eligibility requirements to drive while conducting company business

• Ability to demonstrate good oral and written communications as well as extensive organizational skills
• Ability to anticipate and effectively deal with a significantly large number of details
• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with clients and guests
