As an ambassador of the Meow Wolf multiverse, the Box Office Associate champions weirdness, radical inclusion, and the power of creativity to change the world. Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Box Office Associate welcomes guests to our mind-bending, interactive, and explorable art experience. Box Office Associates greet the curious, sell admissions tickets, control guests flow for timed entry, check-in guests and review house rules and experience expectations before entry and answer guest questions. Additionally, we encourage Box Office Associates to elevate the narrative within our story world by executing their job duties with a performative and creative flair.

How you will do it…

• Deliver a memorable guest experience through exceptional customer service, specifically through acknowledging guests and making them feel welcome in the multiverse.

• Perform job responsibilities with a creative flair that elevates the exhibition narrative

• Provide guests with information about ticketing, rules, upcoming events, Meow Wolf origins and more

• Process ticketing and merchandise transactions

• Monitor crowds and assist with crowd control to ensure the safety of guests and staff

• Respond to a variety of guest inquiries

• Report emergencies to the appropriate onsite teams

• Respond to injuries and emergencies appropriately

• Adhere to basic sanitation practices as needed

To be successful in this role…

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with many types of people.

• welcoming demeanor with an eye towards guest experience.

• Basic computer skills

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays

It would be nice to have…

• An interest in the arts

• Prior work experience in a retail, museum, park, recreation facility, or other public space

• Prior experience with point of sale systems

• Dual language skills, especially but not limited to English and Spanish

Work environment & physical demands…
This position works in a mix of indoor and outdoor settings. Outdoor settings include exposure to weather elements and standing for prolonged periods of time. Indoor settings include exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands

• Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces

• Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods, up to four hours at a time

• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers

• Positioning or moving objects up to 20 pounds
