Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a Bridge Structural Director to lead our New York Metro Transportation group.

The responsibilities include but are not limited too:
Provide engineering technical and management leadership for the Bridge Structural team.

Manage a structural team comprised of over 70 staff members and coordinate with contractors on Design Build opportunities as well as other disciplines.

Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. Candidate will initiate and maintain extensive contacts with senior- level engineers within the company and with key engineering officials at various agencies and authorities.

Candidate will utilize relativity, foresight, and senior engineering judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual engineering problems.

Determine program objectives and requirements, organize programs and projects, and develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.

Will be responsible for supervision of staff and administrative functions associated with running a large group of professionals.

Responsible for overseeing project budgets and quality of deliverables.

Attract additional talent, resources, continued strengthening and increasing capabilities of the structural team.

Will lead by example and provide guidance that will develop future leadership by mentoring and coaching members of the team.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
+ BA/BS + 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership.

+ Must have NY Metro Agency and Client Experience for Structural Transportation Related Projects.

+ Must have an excellent working knowledge of AASHTO as well as various DOT standards and PANYNJ standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Highly effective and technically competent in structural engineering design and project development.

+ Excellent communication skills, persuasion skills and, negotiation of critical issues.

+ 20 years of related experience.

Offered rate of compensation (NY locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $200,000-$250,000.
