You will be serving as the trusted control advisor to the Front Office in our Securitized Products Group function. The Securitized Products Group provides our clients the best expertise in business areas that markets, structures, finances and distributes bonds and loans backed by a range of collateral types. This team works with a wide selection of clients, including banks, finance companies, hedge funds, private equity sponsors, corporates and asset managers.

As a Business Control Management Associate, you'll be responsible for ensuring the line of business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the global Securitized Products Group (SPG) Business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. Our team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation.

Job Responsibilities
  • In partnership with stakeholders, evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the business' risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks
  • Ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
  • Perform ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategies
  • Assist with development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentations through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business unit
  • Improve the "user experience" for all stakeholders and partners, i.e., focus in enhancing transparency, efficiency and simplicity of control processes

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3-7 years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance preferred; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complex ideas simply
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to understand and summarize relevant business data, identifying key messages for Senior Management
  • Well-organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
  • Prior knowledge in securitized financial products including (but not limited to) auto loans and leases, credit cards, student loans, personal loans, residential mortgages and/or commercial products (equipment, vehicle fleets, aircraft, containers, intellectual property)
