Manchester’s five strategic locations ensure speed to market and a high-quality product. With a total of fourteen precision sheeters, three slitter rewinders, five guillotines, and four carton packing lines, we have the capacity to produce over 170,000 tons of finished product for the marketplace. We maintain an average daily inventory of over 16,000 tons to meet the demands of our customers providing “Just in Time” service for customer needs.

The Manchester Industries Richmond, Virginia location is located in the capital city of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Richmond has become a bustling metropolitan city while still maintaining it’s history and charm. Just 90 miles south of Washington, D.C. and 40 miles west of Williamsburg, Richmond offers exciting opportunities for travel. Richmond is located along the banks of the beautiful James River and home to numerous historic districts. Downtown Richmond offers small town feel with big city experience offering fine dining, local breweries, shopping, and festivals. There are several museums including the Children’s Museum of Richmond, the Virginia Center for Architecture, Valentine Richmond History Center, and the Old Dominion Railway Museum. The Richmond Ballet and Richmond Symphony offer cultural opportunities throughout the year. Several parks are located along the James River offering bike trails, hiking and nature trails, and many scenic overlooks along the river’s route through the city. The James River itself offers one of the best opportunities for white-water rafting/canoeing/kayaking in the country. The city of Richmond offers several exception K-12 schools, several private schools, and well-known colleges and universities including Virginia Commonwealth, University of Richmond, and Virginia Union University.

What you will do
Coordinates the procurement, receiving, storing, tracking and delivery of materials, supplies and services for the company in a cost-effective, timely manner.

Procurement/Delivery of Supplies

• Analyses and selects suppliers, providing recommendations to the manager for review.
• Responsible for securing, monitoring, and managing materials, supplies and services and providing feedback on suppliers’ quality and service.
• Facilitates delivery of materials, supplies and services to designated staging and/or delivery areas as designated by the receiving facilities.
• Manages PO/invoice exception process: Ensures invoicing is correct, resolves issues and concerns.
• Creates monitors and updates purchase orders ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of parts.
• Ensures compliance with corporate negotiated supply agreements and procurement policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the development and revision of bills of materials utilizing designated databases and tracking tools to create new vendor and new item requests.
• Monitors usage data and determines stock inventories and replenishment as required

Leadership

• Builds relationships with vendors, participates in meetings, and leads communications.
• Investigates and coordinates with users to educate and ensure outstanding issues are corrected.
• May monitor vendor performance, assist in the development of corrective actions, and ensure completion.
• Develops and manages relationships with key people in other functional areas to expand system effectiveness
• Develops and maintains training manuals and processes, and provide training to system users
• Maintains a strong working relationship between customer service and operations teams.
• Advises management of all issues that may inhibit expected job performance.
• Impacts the company’s bottom line by actively engaging in problem solving.

What you will need
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in maintenance, materials management, or purchasing in a manufacturing or industrial process business.
• 1 – 2 years’ experience with data management and data integrity, preferred.
