ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Draft and maintain facility records and designs utilizing computer-aided drafting systems. Converses with engineers and other subject matter experts to interpret design concepts.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Evaluate projected goals and provide engineering design options to meet those goals.
  • Prepare engineering drawings for client sites to address facility modifications, expansions, and other changes due to business or environmental conditions.
  • Participate with project team members to solve problems for clients and provide guidance alternative design.
  • Written and oral status reports to management on assigned projects on a regular basis.
  • Identify and provide solutions to any project issues impacting the project schedule, budget, or design requirements.
  • Pro-actively troubleshoot and problem solve with practical client-focused solutions.
  • Interpreting project briefs and meeting with clients, engineers, and architects to ensure all blueprints and technical drawings are completed to specifications.
  • Producing rough sketches and using CAD software to prepare detailed drawings, plans, and prints.
  • Visiting sites to gather information and determine limitations and feasibility of designs.
  • Updating software, drawings, and other documents.
  • Remaining professional when feedback is delivered and implementing any changes to drafts as soon as possible.
  • Ensuring drawings are compliant with building regulations and engineering principles.
  • Conducting research when required.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • College Degree and/or CAD drafting certificate is a plus
  • 1 - 3 years of related experience is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Good analytical, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Efficient time management ability with minimal supervision
  • Solid technical aptitude including diverse knowledge of drafting principles
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and ruler).
  • General mechanical aptitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Hearing enough to understand and communicate by telephone and in person.
  • Requires the ability sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Determine the distance between objects.
  • See details of objects that are more than a few feet away.
  • Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.
  • Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
