The Old Colony Y shall lease to the Camp Caretaker Maintenance Worker a residence on the Camp property pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Lease Agreement. The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the grounds and building of Camp Clark and providing security and supervision of the property.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for carrying out all duties related to his/her assigned program in a manner consistent with the aims of the Old Colony Y. The Maintenance Worker will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities will reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency. The Maintenance Worker will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty, and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties.
GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the grounds and buildings of Camp Clark and providing security and supervision of the property.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep the grounds in order and road passable.
- Clean and maintain buildings and equipment.
- Assist in the development of repairs, new additions, and equipment needs projects.
- Make repairs to equipment and buildings as directed.
- Secure bids from outside contractors when necessary, and assist in the selection of appropriate contractors.
- Make frequent inspection of property and report any vandalism immediately.
- Be visible in the community to maintain positive public relations and contacts with police and fire departments, and neighbors.
- Participate in fund raising activities such as contributing goods and services.
- Maintain the integrity, attractiveness, and cleanliness of the buildings, grounds, and caretaker's cottage in accordance with the standards of the Old colony Y.
- Become familiar with and act in accordance with all security systems, including electronic fire and burglar alarms, emergency procedures, and reporting procedures.
WORK TIME:
- An average of 1,040 hours (20 hours weekly) throughout the year will be required for this position. Actual work activities of the required hours will be assigned by the Associate Executive Director, and completed by the Maintenance Worker at the time chosen by the latter, so as to be considerate of the Manager's schedule.
- A log sheet and description of hours and work must be submitted every month.
- Facility and property security is an assumed duty by the Maintenance Worker above the 1,040 hours per year.
