Aramco America is developing groundbreaking systems to reduce CO2 emissions from the transportation sector. We have designed and built compact systems that are integrated in vehicles. We are taking them now to marine vessels.

Aramco America's Detroit Research Center seeks a carbon capture process engineer to conduct process and equipment development and oversee deployment of compact CO2 capture demonstrations. The position involves both engineering calculations and development, and hands-on work on demonstration systems. The successful candidate should have both a strong technical background and project management skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Formulate objectives, technical scope and requirements for demonstrating compact CO2 capture systems
• Determine the development steps, deliverables, and milestones
• Estimate the development schedule, resources, and costs
• Conduct FEED level engineering studies
• Detailed engineering, construction, start up, and operation of demonstration systems
• Oversee testing and analyze testing results
• Write technical reports and publications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering with seven years practical experience in CO2 capture or similar processes
• Industrial experiences in process engineering and project management
• Experiences in running process simulation using commercial software packages such as ASPEN Plus, ASPEN Hysys, or similar
• Working knowledge of control systems development, integration, operation, and troubleshooting
• Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
• Candidate should be comfortable in working independently or part of a project team, presentation of research findings at internal project review meetings, meetings with external collaborators, technical conferences
• Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined
• Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette
