Salary Range:
$1,780.62 - $2,592.92 Biweekly
$3,858.00 - $5,618.00 Monthly
$46,296.00 - $67,416.00 Annually
Although the full salary range for this position is provided, appointments are typically made at or near the range minimum.

About this work unit:
To ensure every Colorado business has access to a skilled workforce and every Coloradan has access to meaningful employment, resulting in statewide economic vitality. This is accomplished by providing services tied to programs funded under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA), Wagner-Peyser, Trade Adjustment Act (TAA), and grants in the Colorado Rural Workforce Consortium. It provides employment services including labor exchange; and referral of applicants to job openings and placement assistance and addresses employability barriers, delivers quality services to program candidates, businesses, and the community. The unit fosters partnerships with educational institutions and other community organizations to provide a network of support services to ensure Colorado has a qualified and relevant workforce.
About this position:
This position is an Employment Specialist I. The position works with all populations of job seeking candidates, including harder-to-serve youth individuals and people from a variety of different socio-economic and professional backgrounds. The goal: to provide intensive case management services and support that helps individuals overcome barriers to their career choice. This position also provides a broad array of workforce services to business and works with partners and stakeholders for the benefit of the community.
An Employment Specialist interprets federal regulations and delivers services based on state program guidance, policies, and procedures.
By providing case management and job training services such as assessment of skills using both formal and informal tools; career guidance, support and followup; access to workforce center resources; and connection to community resources, job seeker customers are better equipped to achieve their career and personal economic goals. In providing workforce center services to businesse such as job postings, candidate searches, workforce related information and key linkages - our businesses are supported. The convergence of job seeker services and services to business facilitated by the Workforce Center Employment Specialist helps to support and advance a robust local economy.
This person will deliver WIOA youth program services in the 6 counties in the Western sub-area This position will work primarily out of the Montrose WFC but will also serve clients in Delta, Gunnison, Ouray, Telluride, and the west end of Montrose County
Substitutions
Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.
AND
Six months of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience with career guidance and training (for example a college guidance counselor, experience with career services or within Workforce Development Programs),- Passion for helping people,
- Familiarity with the local labor market,
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
- Must be able to read, interpret and apply local, state and federal program guidance.
- Youth case management experience for hard-to-serve populations,
- Computer familiarity including the ability to type and enter data, navigate among various computer applications, print and scan documents, proficient in using Microsoft Word, and Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive)
- Expert in business writing and public speaking.
- Customer service excellence, relationship management, and de-escalation techniques.
