Career Planner I Job Summary:
This position works under the general direction of the WIOA program director or program manager, coordinating pre-employment training, internships, job placement, leadership, and community services to assigned participants. Other duties of managing critical programming elements as assigned by the director or manager, including thorough and accurate data tracking, file management and client engagement.
Career Planner I Sample Job Duties:
- Provide case management to caseload of participants referred to the program.
- Provide transportation for participants as needed regarding the program goals.
- Provide crisis management in needed situations.
- Conduct regular meetings to address issues such as school attendance, academic challenges, family issues and progress.
- Communicate with referring workers, parents/guardians, teachers, employers, and other professionals as required.
- Refer participants to appropriate community support or treatment programs as needed.
- Perform all necessary record keeping and reporting functions as required and needed to adhere to agency and grant requirements.
- Provide related community activities as assigned by Program Supervisor and/or Program Director in order to facilitate programming and participant goals.

Requirements:Bachelor's degree required, preferably in human service related field. Prefer two years of experience working with participants involved in the justice system, or with individuals experiencing a variety of barriers to success. Preference of at least one year of experience as a Career Planner/Advisor for a workforce development program. Experience with technology; must be proficient in time management.
