Salary: $15.50 - 22 / per hour

The Companion Caregiver provides services topatients/clients in their places of residence that includes, but is not limitedto, certain “hands-off” care. “Hands-off” care includes: providing andencouraging socialization; encouraging a mild exercise program; encouragingmedication compliance through timely reminders to take medications; supervisingthe safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing;assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores. Theprovision of “hands-off” care as described above is contingent upon thelicensing requirements of each state.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides “hands off” care such as:
• Providing and encouraging socialization
• Encouraging a mild exercise program
• Encouraging medication compliance through timely remindersto take medications
• Supervising the safety of the patient/client when bathing,toileting, and dressing
• Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing lighthousekeeping chores
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shiftschedule is complete
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintains confidentiality of all client information, inaccordance with HIPAA standards
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriateinfection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions
• Notifies the office of any abnormal findings or conditions
• Adheres to standards and procedures of the Company
• Represents the Company with a positive image at all times
• Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting theneeds of all facilities
• Effectively communicates with the office staff, includingavailability to work
• Adheres to time and attendance policies
• Provides requirements-related information (Annual PPD,In-services, etc) in a timely fashion; follows all other compliance standardsat all times
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion CareHomemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner andadhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess stronginterpersonal skills preferred
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred
• Proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required
