Customer Service

Job Title: Customer Service Agent

Department: Cargo Office

Reports To: Office Supervisor/Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Agent will prepare document and manifest packets for both US Customs and uplift on departing flights. Agent will also act as customer service rep with cargo shippers, trucking companies and airline customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive import manifest and matches against documents retrieved from inbound flights and updates computer system with appropriate information.
• Prepares import documents for presentation to all needed government agencies.
• Advise customers on status of the freight and any fees that must be collected.
• Prepares transfer documents for transit freight to be delivered to other air carriers.
• Prepare, present and has validated by government agencies appropriate permits for uplift and departure of outbound flights.
• Accepts dangerous goods cargo for transport (DG certified accepting agent only).
• Review and resolve documentation problems to ensure and prevent error and flight delays.
• Inspect any special handling requirements to ensure specific operational and safety will be applied (ex: DG, Perishables, AVI’s).
• Update cargo booking information, create cargo manifest and other documents.
• Makes and delivers all appropriate documents to outbound flights.
• Work closely with the weight & balance and warehouse operation.
• Transport aircraft crew to and from US Immigration for clearance of travel documents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including a ten year background check as required by US Customs.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
• Logistics Industry experience is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21.88 per hour
