The carpenter will be responsible for repair, replace or otherwise improve items of the Hospital Facilities or equipment. Perform skilled work in various locations throughout the facility.
- Perform skilled tasks. (Examples) repairing dry wall, painting, repairing & hanging doors or other building fixtures, installing cabinets & counter tops, constructing walls
- Use initiative and judgement in performing jobs so that they will not result in loss of property
- Adjust and make repairs, “on location” to equipment and physical plant
- Construct or reconstruct equipment.
- Perform variety of small construction tasks as directed
- Install such new equipment, as directed
- Responsible for snow removal during and after hours
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
- Inspect and identifies doors, millwork & drywall in need of repair or replacement.
- Perform other duties of the department, as assigned
- A high school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 year’s construction experience carpentry and dry wall installation and repair. Hospital setting preferred
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Proven construction experience
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to maintain focus while working individually
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches
