Alpine Apothecary is located conveniently in Super 1 Whitefish just 11 highway miles from Kalispell and 7 miles from Columbia Falls. We are a full service pharmacy without all the headaches of corporate metrics and short staffing to work around. We fill prescriptions for both humans and animals and are independently owned by a Montana family!
We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team. Tasks are listed below and are typical of a retail and compounding pharmacy. If you are curious shoot us an email and ask questions or stop by and see for yourself.
Responsibilities
- Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening
- Greet customers and answer questions if needed
- Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
- Verify mathematical calculations of days supply and liquid medications.
- Select the appropriate product and ensure it is labeled according to our standard and the board of pharmacy requirements.
- Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
- Undertake administrative tasks (e.g.record-keeping) as assigned
- Comply with all security measures and quality standards
Skills
- Proven experience as pharmacy (experience in the medical field or customer service jobs also considered for the right candidate).
- Experience with an our computer system, Pioneer, is a plus
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and think critically.
- Reliable with a keen eye for detail
- Certified Pharmacy technician in the State of Montana, or ability to obtain licensure (no felonies and over the age of 18).
Schedule
- We are open Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm and Saturday 9am - 1pm
- Off every evening by 6pm, no late nights!
- Shifts possible are 4, 8 or 9 hours and rotating Saturdays – we work with our team to be sure it fits for your home life.
- Weekend work is an every other Saturday quick 4 hour shift, leaving most of your day still open to recreate in Montana!
- Closed on Sundays!
- Closed on Major Holidays!
