Overview

:
The Charge Corrections Specialist performs corrections of anesthesia charges in the patient accounting system by utilizing the charge capture system. All new hires must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Job Highlights

:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
  • Performs corrections of anesthesia charges in the patient accounting system
  • Working from a queue, correcting charges sent back due to compliance issues, demographic updates, provider billing updates or coding updates
  • Review and resolve edits, as necessary, to drop a timely and accurate claim
  • Must meet daily production goals and quality scores
  • Audit billing work as requested
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REPORTING TO THIS POSITION:
No direct reports

Qualifications

:
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Knowledge of CPT, ASA and Modifier utilization.
  • Knowledge of Payer rules and regulations
  • Skill in computer applications including MS Office products
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in gathering and reporting information.
  • Must have a pleasant disposition and be a team player.
  • Strong communication skills

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Medical billing experience is preferred, including but not limited to claims processing, charge
corrections and payment posting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching
