This position is located at the Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama in Greenville Alabama.. The CEO/Administrator will be an employee of UAB Health System.

The CEO/Administrator of the hospital reports to the local Board as well as a designated executive in the UAB Health System. The CEO/Administrator has executive responsibility for and authority over the hospital in which he/she works.


GENERAL SUMMARY

The CEO/Administrator provides the leadership, vision, and direction for the hospital. Articulates a vision for the hospital and develops the strategic direction and growth strategies necessary to achieve stated objectives and provide services needed in the local market. Directs the overall operations of the hospital, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and licensure and accreditation requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Leadership


  • Takes charge and provides innovative, mission-driven, financially responsible, and inspired executive leadership for UAB Health System managed facility.
  • Provides financially responsible leadership for the organization.
  • Serves as the chief spokesperson to represent the hospital to area business organizations and other related constituencies.
  • Builds collegial relationships with other executives in the community and UABHS.
  • Develops and maintains an environment for physicians, nurses, and other staff that is characterized by openness, respect, and teamwork.

Vision and Strategy


  • Develops and articulates a clear and cohesive vision for the hospital. Creates a shared commitment to high quality, patient focused clinical care. Develops a clear and cohesive long and short-term growth strategy. Translates the strategy into a clear business plan for Board approval.
  • Works with the local hospital Board, medical staff, and hospital staff to develop and prioritize goals, objectives, and initiatives to be carried out within specified timeframes.

Operations and Finance

  • Develops and implements the strategic plan for the hospital for both short and long-term goals and communicate this to the Board and all levels of the hospital.
  • Meets or exceeds the Board approved budget forecasts based on the strategic plan.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, accreditation and licensure requirements, and continuous quality improvement programs.
  • Leads the development of quality initiatives and standards and communicates these standards and results to the Board and all levels of the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with all employment-related laws and maintains a culture of respect for all employees and staff of the organization.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced degree in Hospital Administration, Business, or a related field and seven (7) years’ experience at the administrative level required. Experience in a multi-hospital system preferred. Experience in rural hospital administration strongly preferred.
