CIVIL CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

This job is located in Neosho, Missouri.

POSITION SUMMARY

Seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to establish budgets and formulate bids for conceptual and design/build projects ranging from $250K-$70M. This staff member will report to the Lead Estimator and may perform bid work singly or as part of a team. Typical projects this position may encounter are: waste & water treatment plants, sewer & water utilities, roads & bridges, and earthwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review plans & specifications for quantity take-off
• Prepare conceptual estimates using limited project documentation
• Communicate with project architects, owner(s) and subcontractors to ensure full inclusion of estimate items
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids and scopes of work
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees
• Create bid proposals, interview with potential clients
• Prepare and submit bid packages to vendors and subcontractors
• Ensure all bids are properly covered on bid day
• Must be able to meet deadlines
• Perform comparisons of scope, quantities and cost data between projects
• Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or required
• Perform constructability reviews from bid documents
• Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• 3 years civil estimating experience (preferred)
• 3-5 years construction experience
• BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or related field
• Ability to read and understand soil reports and testing requirements
• Application experience in: HeavyBid, Timberline, On-Screen Takeoff, Bid Matrix, AGTEK, MS Excel
