Important Job Information

• Position: Local Class B driver
• Location: Louisville, KY
• Pay: $26.00 per hour + full benefits offered
• Pay Schedule: Weekly
• Schedule: Monday - Friday from 6 AM - 4 PM
• Requirements: Must be able to drive a manual transmission and have at least 30 months of DOT verifiable CDL-B driving experience within the past 5 years

Today, Schnitzer operates 95 recycling facilities, including seven deep water ports – on both U.S. coasts and in Hawaii and Puerto Rico – which enable efficient delivery of processed scrap metals to steel mills and foundries around the world.

Job Duties:

· Responsible for driving a tractor trailer combination or truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 GVW to transport and deliver equipment and material to supplier, customer, storage, or processing locations

· Maintain compliance with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and all applicable DOT regulations.

· Duties may include the operation of one or several types of loading and unloading equipment including but not limited to pallet jacks, hand trucks, hand lifts, hydraulic lifts, or wheel loaders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to work 12 hour shifts with flexible start and end times
• 3-5 years of driving experience and a valid CDL Class B license required.
• Knowledge of automatic routing equipment, wet systems, relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and regulations associated with running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles.
• Ability to sit constantly, stand and walk frequently on uneven ground and throughout the yard; lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently
• High School diploma, GED Certification, or experience in a similar role preferred.
