The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for the Central Middlesex Area Office in Acton. The Clinical Coordinator serves as the senior clinical staff person of the Case Management Team sharing clinical expertise and coordinating clinical activities with the vendors, public and private agencies and the case management system around client focus issues. Functions also include direct supervision of service coordination staff and assuming administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Case Management Team Director.

Detailed Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as the chairperson of the Area Office Risk Management Committee which meets on a regular basis to schedule formal reviews of Risk Issues and develop formal plan to attempt to minimize all Risk issues that exist.
- Chairperson for the quarterly Provider Meetings as well as the interagency DDS/ DMH/ DCF quarterly meetings.
- Connects and communicates with DDS Provider Agencies and Families.
- Works collaboratively with the Area Director and Assistant Area Director to create strategic plans between providers and DDS as well as functioning as the ultimate problem solver when families have unresolved issues or want to attempt to put in place creative solutions to achieve better outcomes.
- Serves a critical role in supporting people with disabilities to achieve their life vision.
- The Clinical Coordinator position provides either direct or indirect supervision to 22 employees in the Central Middlesex Area Office.
- Maximizes revenue to the Commonwealth by ensuring all Home and Community Based Waiver (HCBW) requirements are completed within the necessary time frames and are an accurate reflection of the services provided by the Department.
- Manages clinical issues regarding any RISK factors in providing supports to individuals.
- Identifies clinical, behavioral, medical and forensic challenges and works with area staff and provider agency personnel to create effective strategies to keep DDS individuals and the community safe.
- Manages and oversees the monthly Guardianship Clinic.
- Oversees the utilization of beds contracted with the Respite Provider.
- Oversees the MASSCAP process at an Area Office level, for determining service needs of individuals and 688 transition planning, and the prioritization of such resources.
- Displays an in-depth knowledge of DDS Regulations, Policy and Procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
