CNC Machinist - Shop Manager

An small, well established precision CNC machining business is seeking a skilled CNC machinist/programmer with technical assembly skills to run day to day operations. This is a working management position, with the opportunity to grow into a general management role as the business expands. The company has been operating for over 20 years, primarily servicing the performance automotive aftermarket with precision machined parts. The business is looking for the right person to help maintain existing business while expanding into new markets.

Job Description

This position works directly with ownership to service customers and meet ISO 9001:2015 compliance standards. This position leads the day-to-day production scheduling, executes material purchases, and communicates with customers to ensure their orders are completed correctly and on time. This role will manage direct reports and ultimately be responsible for managing the shop team.

Ongoing clear communication with customers, suppliers and the production team members is a key to success in this role. This candidate will oversee all aspects of day-to-day production, increasing their role and responsibilities as they progress. This position is ideal for someone with CNC machine setup and programming expertise that is now looking to grow into a managerial role.

Job Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Setup and Program multiple Haas CNC Mills and Lathes
• Train Co-Workers how to setup for recurring jobs
• Maintain quality operations and manufacturing processes
• Ensure adherence to ISO standards
• Organize daily schedule for maximum productivity and efficiency
• Setup machines and train on proper machine set up protocol
• Help quote new jobs and program
• Ensure on-time and on budget completion of jobs
• Assist and oversee final assembly of technical parts
• Manage co-workers and assign job duties
• Help prepare products for shipment, verifying correct orders are shipped
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Skills/Attributes

The ideal candidate for this role is a trained machinist with strong communication skills and leadership capabilities. The ability to self direct and prioritize is a must. Energy and enthusiasm for this work & industry is paramount to success in this position. The individual should be mechanically inclined, with building and engineering likely a big part of their work history and personal hobbies. Enthusiasm, written and verbal communication, and critical thinking skills are all necessary in this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
