Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Paint Shop Assistant to assist our paint shop team in tinting and finishing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and mixing paint, assisting in applying paint to surfaces, and ensuring a smooth finish. The candidate should have a keen eye for color and a strong understanding of paint mixing.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare and mix paint according to specifications and requirements
• Assist in applying paint to wood surfaces
• Ensure all painting equipment is clean and properly maintained
• Help to maintain a clean and organized paint shop
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations while working in the paint shop
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure the quality and consistency of work
• Assist in color matching and tinting to meet customer requirements
• Ensure a smooth and flawless finish on painted surfaces
• Assist in sanding, priming, and other preparatory work before painting
• Maintain accurate records of paint usage and inventory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in paint mixing and application preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently
• Knowledge of various paint types and their applications
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing priorities
• Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to painting
• This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. The Paint Shop Assistant will report directly to the Paint Shop Manager and work closely with other team members to ensure quality work and customer satisfaction.

Physical Demands

• This role requires regular lifting, carrying, and/or moving of heavy objects and equipment
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
