We are in search of ambitious, motivated talent to participate in our Commercial Leadership Development Program (CLDP). It is a progressive and challenging program that provides team members a breadth of unique experiences in various aspects of Commercial Sales shaping you into the leaders of the future. This 2-year program is an exciting, full-time opportunity for professionals looking to kick-start their career by embarking on a development journey.
The ideal candidate is an independent, globally minded, and visionary leader with an understanding in working across different business units in a complex, global organization. Commercial Leadership Development (CLDP) Program:
This program will be a sales learning and development program within Danfoss Power Solutions – North America. It is a 2-year rotational development program, consisting of three 8-month rotational assignments in various commercial /marketing/operations roles throughout the United States in different participating Danfoss locations (some potential locations include Ames, IA, Minneapolis, MN, Chicago, IL, Boulder, CO, Baltimore, MD, Cambridge, MA). Relocation may be required to participate in the program as well as required throughout the program supporting your rotational assignments. There is potential for 1 rotation to be fully remote.
The structure of the program encompasses challenging job roles in each rotation, ongoing leadership and technical training, dedicated development coach, focused career planning, and a hands-on experiential learning curriculum for industrial proficiency through a dedicated training program in communications, presentations, project management, DEI leadership, and finance.
Successful CLDP participants at the conclusion of the 3 rotations shall demonstrate proficient leadership and management skills as well as foundational competence for potential candidacy in a mid-career senior-level position in sales (employment at will, no guarantees, but the expectation/hope is that they would convert to a director-level position at the end of the 2-year program).
The candidate’s preferences and competencies will be considered to determine best-fit position at the end of the rotation. Participant preferences will be considered for rotation locations and roles.
Job Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Work with projects related to sales and marketing such as market analysis, improving customer journeys, project management, brand and product awareness, product launches, and change management
- Develop and strengthen customer relationships, maximize sales to assigned accounts, and develop a strong pipeline of new opportunities
- Assist in any related technical, quality or sales activity to support the overall business objective
- Assist, encourage, and drive distribution sales channels for profitable growth, propose new partners, and continue to develop strong relationships with our current sales partners
- Prepare forecasts, sales and cost budget, and pricing strategy for new products in the Americas region
- Accelerate the growth in Americas executing the global strategy and to contribute developing the go-to-market strategy for America’s region
- Develop the team objectives and driving a metric -based process that inspires performance, and accountability
- All participants will be expected to certify International Fluid Power Society (IFPS) by the end of their 3rd rotation

Background & Skills
- Bachelor’s or master's degree within Sales, Business Administration, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field
- Passion to work with customer-centric sales
