Commissioning at Cushing Terrell represents a crucial piece of the complex building-design puzzle. As a team-member of this team, you will be collaborating in a group of architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, designers, and drafters. You will be called upon to support mechanical design work in partnership with talented architectural designers, engineers, and business professionals across our 14 offices. Be prepared to gain exposure to some exciting, high-profile clients with big expectations, but note you will need to be comfortable with tight deadlines and a fluctuating workload.

A Commissioning Technician at Cushing Terrell…

Responsibilities include commissioning reports and inspections on commercial, retail, educational, and healthcare projects. Knowledge of mechanical building systems will be required. You should have excellent communication skills, team attitude, and a self-starting work ethic with minimal supervision required.

• Has system knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems
• Can perform construction inspections on a multitude of project typology
• Is a firm believer in the benefit of coordinating with other trades including architectural, electrical, and structural
• Progressive experience in mechanical or electrical systems installations.
• Prepare commissioning deliverables including technical reports, commissioning reports, system manuals, assessments, and LEED documentation as it relates to commissioning
• Prepare and implement pre-functional performance tests
• Create functional acceptance test procedures for building automation, HVAC, domestic hot water, lighting, renewable energy systems, associated controls and other systems and equipment required to be commissioned.
• Perform field inspections, witness equipment startups and test and balance activities.
• Gather and communicate requirements related to mechanical, lighting and control systems to support project delivery or compliance with LEED
• Can point to past success in developing strong client relationships, including design build contractor relationships
• Displays excellent leadership abilities, organizational standards, and time management skill

• Have 2+ years’ experience with mechanical/plumbing systems for commercial buildings
• An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field
• Enjoy Traveling (50% Travel is expected)
