Communications Coordinator

Job Summary: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church is looking for a full-time Communications Coordinator to join our parish staff family. The Communications Coordinator should be an intentional disciple of Jesus Christ, who furthers the mission of our parish by building a comprehensive communication plan. Duties would include the preparation and dissemination of Parish information through our website, bulletin, announcements, social media, printed and electronic media, Flocknote (email and text distribution) and community outlets. The Communications Coordinator is a key player in both our staff and parish community.
He/she represents the Our Lady of the Lake brand while being an enthusiastic Church ambassador and creates a cohesive presence with the Parish Staff by attending Church events.

Work Schedule: This is a twelve-month, full-time position. It can be expected that this position will work additional hours as needed, including evenings and weekends, to support all church needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, or related field
• Minimum 3 yrs. experience in a communications field
• Knowledge and Proficiency in Microsoft Office- especially Publisher, Google Suite, Graphic Design,

Photography, Videography

• Outstanding writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills with attention to detail
• Strong character with high moral and ethical values

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop an effective, comprehensive communication plan for the Parish.
• Manage the maintenance and content of websites and social media accounts.
• Create graphical, photo, video, and written content (including promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, posters) promoting Parish events for dissemination through the OLL website, social media accounts, bulletins, publications, articles, and external media outlets.
• Layout and prepare Our Lady of the Lake’s weekly bulletin for production by using created content and submitting edited product to our bulletin company, Diocesan.
• Create online registration forms with QR codes for parish events.
• Prepare the weekly Commentator sheets with announcements.
• Broadcast information through mass emails and texts using Flocknote.
• Coordinate the live streaming of events as necessary.
• Manage set up, maintenance, storage, and basic troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment for parish meetings and events.
• Establish a relationship with media outlets to facilitate external promotion of events.
• Attend various Church activities and events to provide communications and news coverage.
• Keep all communications and promotional materials and content relevant, current, and accurate, including but not limited to website and social media accounts.
• Assists with event production and coordination for Church-wide events and activities as necessary.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Compensation:
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; comprehensive benefits package provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
