Position Description
Reporting to the Mid-Atlantic Director of Community Life, the Community Life Senior Manager is responsible for managing TCB’s relationships with local partner organizations to implement and provide oversight of the Community Life strategy in Pittsburgh, PA, and support other locations within the region per the strategic plan and ongoing business development. S/he will serve as a “weaver” whose primary responsibility is to ensure that TCB’s efforts are well integrated across departments within the organization and conscientiously cultivated with external organizations locally, regionally, citywide, and statewide. S/he will be accountable for overseeing the implementation of the Community Life place-based model in the Pittsburgh Market (including some projects throughout Pennsylvania). S/he will supervise the Resident Services Coordinators at our East Liberty communities. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for leading and coordinate efforts with local partners to connect residents with opportunities to fulfill Community Life objectives, including housing stabilization, as well as oversee the development and implementation of the Community Success Plans (CSP). This will require communication with third party property management company to support housing stabilization policies to ensure resident success. In addition, s/he will oversee resident success strategies including: conducting needs assessments, engaging residents, identifying and assessing high quality supports, services, programs, and other resources, managing the efforts of multiple partners, and evaluating impact. In accomplishing all of the above, the CL Senior Manager will coordinate with the Mid Atlantic Director of Community Life to engage with partner organizations, local elected officials, private sector leaders, and others belonging to the network of TCB partners in Pennsylvania. Under direct supervision of the Mid Atlantic Director of Community Life, the CL Senior Manager will be responsible for:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Work very closely with the property management team keeping them informed of opportunities with stakeholders, events held onsite, respond to referrals for housing stability support, coordinate resident meetings and hold at minimum a monthly meeting with Property Management to review all site.
Manage the coordination, and execution of the Community Life plan that is well coordinated with strategies led by TCB’s VP of Community Life, and Mid Atlantic Director of Community Life.
Supervise Community Life Resident Service Coordinator, ensuring accountability of site teams for carrying out CL site’s strategic objectives, including CSP, Community Life Questionnaire, and tracking CL work using CL CONNECT (Efforts-to-Outcome).
Hire and train CL staff (when applicable) on developing CSP, resident engagement best practices, partnerships management, data entering into CL CONNECT, generating monthly activity reports, creating MOA with partners, and collecting and entering of CLQ data.
Oversee collaboration, and facilitate communication with property management team members, and service providers.
Create tenant service plans for development financing applications
Coordinate with staff to ensure effective communication between site teams, community partners, agencies, funders, and TCB corporate support.
Identify and coordinate with new local partner organizations as needed to secure additional resources for carrying out the Community Life place-based model, supportive housing plans, or other relevant resident success strategy.
Work closely with the Community Life Hub team to monitor progress toward fulfilling the Community Life place based-model goals, and objectives.
Develop relationships with key community stakeholders, service providers and partners, as well as manage administrative tasks required for securing and executing contracts with providers and partners to carry out programming.
Keep Mid Atlantic Director of Community Life appraised of issues affecting the progress of Community Life, including determining mid-course corrections in strategy
Participate in professional development and training sessions conducted by TCB’s Community Life, Development, and other departments.
Ensure the collection and input of all program and performance data in the CL Connect (Community Life Database)
Report on progress and exercise authority as needed while managing Community Life activities to ensure that TCB staff members and partner organizations are held accountable for high quality performance.
Represent organization in a professional and ethical manner when meeting with area agencies, funding bodies and community stakeholders.
Support other Community Life sites in the regions as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Provide leadership, management, and oversight of on-site staff and local providers working directly with residents to fulfill Community Life or other plan objectives
Plan, organize, and facilitate Community Life strategies by regularly hosting meetings with leaders of local, regional, and city-wide organizations, service providers, and residents
Strong writing skills and the ability to produce documents and reports that meet specified standards and timelines
Effective communication skills, ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders in multiple ways, including in writing, by hosting meetings with community members and professionals, and through newsletters and other communication/messaging outlets
Literate with technology and software, particularly Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data bases for tracking progress with programs, services, ad clients)
Experience identifying resources, including sources of funding and information that would benefit residents by expanding networking opportunities for individuals and families.
Ability to understand data In order to assess programs and partnerships and inform strategies
Operate in a timely manner, with consistency and a high level of integrity and professionalism; provide excellent customer service to residents and partners
Knowledge of federal, state and local policies affecting housing
Ability to lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams and meetings regarding, for example, social services or mental health supports
Capable of prioritize, multitask, and be self-direct
Ability to maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of people, including but not limited to senior staff, volunteers, interns, community partners, organization donors, media
Proven ability to make social networking connections between community residents, and assist resident by using coaching skills such as active listening, not a counseling approach

Capable of working effectively with minimal supervision and able to perform well under tight time deadlines
Ideally currently residing in Pittsburgh, PA
Education & Experience
B.A. a minimum, ideally a graduate degree in social work, sociology, public policy, youth development and education, or a related field with 7+ year of overall professional experience.
Experience managing nonprofit partnerships and/or working with social service providers and community-based organizations on projects that require coordination among multiple agencies
Experience with rental assisted housing and supportive services, addictions, and working with seniors and people with disabilities, as well as families, is preferred
At least 4 years of experience supervising staff and managing a team of individuals to accomplish common goals and objectives.
Should have experience working with organizations and agencies that serve the following groups: young people with mental health conditions, school non-attenders, drug and alcohol abusers, people with learning and physical disabilities, the elderly, and unemployed Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.?
